Imani Winds has released it’s first Christmas album with special guest artists Jason Moran, James Genus, Nate Smith and Javier Diaz. All arrangements were done by Imani Winds’ own Valerie and Jeff.

Carnegie Hall with Wayne Shorter

After 2 years of amazing concerts and collaborations Imani Winds will help Wayne celebrate his 75th birthday at Carnegie Hall December 2 and at Disney Hall in Los Angeles on December 10. The concert will feature the original work for Imani Winds, Terra Incognita, as well as new works performed with the Wayne Shorter Quartet.

Legacy Commissioning Project (LCP)

Over a five-year period from 2007-2011, Imani Winds is commissioning, premiering and touring ten brand new works! The ambitious and already highly successful project is bringing many musical traditions together. Elements explored embrace African and Afro-Cuban traditions, Asian and Middle Eastern culture as well as jazz. Jason Moran’s Cane was recently performed at Kimmel Center as well as Roberto Sierra’s Concerto De Camera.
