ON TOUR WITH WAYNE SHORTER SUMMER 2007!
The world premiere of Wayne Shorter's TERRA INCOGNITA was greatly received in summer 2006 and went on to Houston's Da Camera (a co-commissioner) for it's second performance. It will receive numerous additional performances throughout the season and seasons to come. This collaboration has resulted in Imani Winds not only performing the newly commission piece but performing WITH the Wayne Shorter Quartet, featuring music of Mr. Shorter, Jeff and Valerie, among others, at none other than the MONTREAL JAZZ FESTIVAL!
